Marvel Studios will hold an early fan screening of Avengers: Infinity War on April 8th in the UK, which has led to widespread fear of spoilers hitting the web in a few short weeks. The promotion of the screening seems quite odd considering the lengths that Marvel has gone to keep a spoiler-free experience for everybody over the course of the last year. The footage that was shown at the D23 Expo and San Diego Comic-Con was a tease that spread like wildfire across the world until the first trailer finally dropped late last year. Will the new fan screening premiere the entire movie?
A new advertisement promotes an early fan screening of Infinity War on Sunday, April 8th at Television Studios in White City, London. This announcement has made some hardcore Marvel fans pretty nervous to know that some lucky fans will get to see the movie ahead of the World Premiere on April 23rd. Marvel Studios pushed the release date up from May 4th to April 27th in an effort to keep spoilers from spreading in the week that the rest of the world would have seen Infinity War early. Some fans suggest that the screening will only be of the first act of the movie, which has put some fears to rest.
Even if they only show the first act, Marvel Studios has put a late, strict review embargo on Infinity War, much like The Last Jedi to prevent spoilers from traveling. Now that this new fan screening has been announced, the fear of spoilers is bigger than it’s been thus far in the marketing leading up to the release. This special fan screening in the UK will take place nearly 3 weeks before Infinity War officially hits theaters and almost 2 weeks before the red-carpet World Premiere. It looks like most hardcore fans will be avoiding Reddit and 4chan for a few weeks.
The Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios have done an amazing job keeping a lid on everything, which makes this early fan screening of Infinity War even more curious. The audience will undoubtedly have to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements, but we all know how well those end up working out, just ask the producers of Deadpool 2. The spoiler paranoia will reach an all-time high after April 8th, even higher than it is now. As for ticketing information, none is available at this time, it’s just an announcement that it’s happening.
A fan screening of Infinity War will take place on April 8th in the UK, but it isn’t clear if the audience will be treated to the entire movie or not. Either way, there’s going to be some spoilers leaking out in the weeks to come, so any hardcore Marvel fans may want to consider setting up some plans to avoid social media in the next couple of weeks.
